2. Case Chile, Pinochet
Pinochet agrees to the change of government if and only if there is signed agreement on the fact that he and/or army will not be judged for possible crimes during his ‘mandato’.
None the less, in most ridiculous way, judge Garzón of Spain aks for the extradition of the same during a stay in England, arguing criminal activity against Spanish citizens.
Were it true, Garzón is no one to ask for the extradition of a former chief of state as the crime not committed in Spain. He may ask from authorities for a case to be judged in Chile for proper compensation, which will be refused alleging the former agreement.
In any case, it appears as an almost miraculous intervention of the Crown of England to avoid such legal aberration by alleging ‘alliance’ and thus respect of determined considerations.
